Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 11:46AM Joyfull! If I had to choose a word for this couple that would be it! I have never in 10 years been to a wedding that laughter overwhelmed the day quite the way it did at the Scruggs wedding! Sometimes I feel like stress can really get the best of couples so that they do not fully enjoy each other, but Jasika and Greg did not let anything get in the way of their happiness.
Once again, we were lucky enough to work with a couple that let us create imagery that was beyond our expectations. I never thought that cigarettes could be so sexy, boy, was I WRONG!!
The image below has to be one of my favorite images ever. I love the composition and the painterly feel it has!!
We have been recently trying to stretch our minds with our approaches to light and really create work that takes on a very dramatic approach. We use lights a lot but when you walk into a place and the natural light just screams at you to take its picture, why would you ever want to augment that! All the shots above are ambient light!
I also love shooting High Key on a wedding day! White on white is one of my favs that you will continue to see more of!
Even though it was hot, we squeezed in a few photos outside. Jasika and Greg were game for whatever, even dodging traffic!
Thanks you guys, you were so much fun and such a breeze to take pictures of! We love how amazing your wedding was and secretly wish we were Armenian;) We wish you much love and laughter for years to come!!

This month we were featured in their "Ask the Experts" section talking about our interpretation of the modern brides wedding photographs. It's so awesome to have a local publication that is covering some of the more contemporary approaches with weddings and their vendors.
We also had one of our Real Wedding, Steve and Heather Ricks, covered in the magazine as well as being listed as "Ones to Watch" in the Guide!
I also want to give a big shout out to my friend Greg Gibson, his wedding photos of Justine and Gary were off the hook! You can also see some of the shots featured in this months issue of Bride and Groom!

Monday, June 8, 2009 at 02:36AM Yesterday was another amazing wedding in Chicago! We had a great couple and an amazing venue to work with at the Modern Contemporary Museum of Art! The family was so sweet and so much fun to work with!
This wedding was another flawless event by Ali Phillips! Every wedding we've ever worked on with her goes on without a hitch! Working with good people makes us look good!
