Andy Zipf-The Long Tail

SOTA's close friend, Andy Zipf has just released his long awaited LP entitled The Long Tail.

Along with the digital release on itunes, Andy, along with several other friends will present a ONE NIGHT ONLY listening/viewing release event for the CD at the Arlington Cinema and Draft house on Dec. 2, 2009 at 6:30-9:30. I was previleged to be tapped by Andy for the CD package design and posters. I've also been asked to join the band for the eveing in presenting live visuals during the show on the big screen!

Mike + Marian

I recently had the opportunity to photograph Mike and Marian's wedding in the wonderful city of Chicago.  Brad, Jeremy and I all headed up our own weddings that weekend and I photographed this simply elegant and chic wedding with my good friend Ben Tankersley.

Drop dead gorgeous is how I would describe Marian, and Mike is not to shabby either. We headed to the Planetarium, on the day U2 was playing at Soldier Field to get some of these amazing images.  Needless to say I was a little nervous about the traffic, but we literally breezed in a breezed out, with not a Bono in sight;)

The ceremony and reception was at one of my favorite places in Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art. Lauren and the girls at LOLA events, knocked out the killer decor and the day went off without a hitch!

Thank you Mike and Marian!  You are gracious, kind, loving and gorgeous!  We had an amazing experience with you and thank you for allowing us to be a part of your day. I love it when you have a perfectly chic, simplistic, modern wedding and a day with perfect light...a truly magical mix for photography!

Jim & Christine / At the Lake

This was an intimate and pretty cozy wedding right on Lake Geneva at Christine's family's lake house.  They really wanted to have the ceremony outside right down by the water and it had been raining off and on all day.  So both outside and inside settings were put in place and ready to go and the final decision to have it outside was made at the last minute. We've never had that close of a call.  Finally, It did not rain during the ceremony.

I wanted to share a few more of the Mr. and Mrs. session that we did with the fabulous Mike and Colleen.  Thank you Humberto for letting us shoot in your house, it was a dream come true.  

It is amazing when everything just falls into place. We are so lucky to have the ability to scout amazing locations for our clients that enhance their photos and enable us to tell a story with the work.  Great images stand alone, but a series of great images is beyond perfect, especially when the couple is so on board to take the journey.

One last thing, all available light...got to love it when that happens...
